Lesson 5 of 11 · The account
How do you warm up a new clipping account?
A brand-new account that opens with a polished clip looks like a bot, and the platform decides that in the first day. Warming up is the boring, free fix.

What a brand-new account looks like from the other side
A platform meets a new account with one question: is there a person here? It has no history to answer with, so it watches the first day or two very closely, and the pattern it is looking for is depressingly easy to fail.
An account created an hour ago, with no profile picture, that has watched nothing, followed nobody and commented never, and whose first action is to upload a polished vertical video with burned-in captions — that is not a description of a new user. It is a description of every bot farm the platform has ever shut down. The account gets treated accordingly, and the treatment is not a ban you could appeal. It is simply not being shown to anyone.
Warming up is the cheapest fix in clipping
Nothing between creation and publishing
- Account created
- Polished clip uploaded
No watch history, no follows, no comments — and the first action is a professionally edited upload. That is a description of a bot, and it is read as one.
Four days of being a person first
- Account created
- Day 1 — watching
- Day 2 — liking, following
- Day 3 — commenting
- Day 4 — first clip
An ordinary user who happened to start posting. Ten to fifteen minutes a day, free, and it is the difference between being distributed and not.
The fix is to be a person for a few days before you are a publisher. Ten to fifteen minutes a day of ordinary use — watching, liking, following, the occasional comment — gives the account exactly the history it is missing, and it costs nothing but the days.
It is also not wasted time, which is the part people miss. You are spending it inside your own niche, watching the clips that are already getting views in it. That is the research half of this job, and doing it now means your first upload is informed rather than a guess.
The shortcut, if you have one
If you already have an account you actually use — a personal one, a couple of years old, with real follows and real watch history — post from that instead and skip this entirely. A real account with real history is already warm by definition, and no amount of deliberate warming up will make a fresh account look more genuine than one that genuinely is.
The trade is that it commits a personal account to one niche, for the reasons the last lesson gave. Whether that is worth it is yours to decide, but the four days you save are real and nobody selling you a warm-up routine will mention this option.
The principle is the same everywhere. The schedule is not — one platform lets a new account through in two days and another takes a week, and getting that wrong costs you the account.

Why do your clips suddenly get no views?Three clips in a row at single-digit views is not bad luck and it is usually not the editing. It is a signal you can identify, and mostly avoid.
